Named after a renowned family

Volrat Thamsgatan in Johanneberg was named in 1938 in memory of the trader Volrat Tham, who was born in 1629 in Saxony and moved to Göteborg in 1658. This is a central spot with Chalmers University of Technology as well as several faculties of Göteborg University within walking distance. Our areas Volrat Tham, Viktor Rydberg, Olofshöjd and Rotary are located close to one another a short distance to the south of the Götaplatsen square.

Elevators
There are elevators in house no 12, 14 and 16.

Internet
SGSNET broadband is included in the rent.
Information about your Internet connection (how to register and setup) can be found under Internet/Guides. Remember that when you register it is the customer number printed on your rental contract you should use.

Storage rooms
The storage rooms are in the basement, not always located in the same house body as the apartment.

Household wastes/recycling
Vacuum system for residual waste and food waste is located outside Volrat Thamsgatan 16.

For vacuum waste collection there is a garbage room available between Volrat Thamsgatan 18 and 20. There you can also fetch paper bags for composting food waste.

Remaining waste can be sorted in the light blue source sorting vessels (outside Volrat Thamsgatan 16).

Staircases, corridors/Fire-safety
Staircases and storages in attic and basement are also escape routes and must not be used as storage spaces for furniture, door mats, bicycles, newspapers, packaging etc for fire-safety and accident-prevention reasons. To store objects here is therefore forbidden. For your own safety we make regular inspections and if there are objects blocking the way these will immediately be removed. Objects lying around in these spaces give an untidy impression and can also prevent cleaning from taking place.
